In home sessions can be a great chance to capture some more journalistic and fine-art style portraits. This family invited me into their home to photograph their small children. It was a great opportunity to capture them in their environment.

Estelle Grace is an 18 month old after my own heart; she pranced into the studio in a pink poodle skirt and black patent leather shoes today. Estelle and I took advantage of the brief nice weather today and took a few shots in the grass outside the back door. She kept wanting to put the dead leaves back on the trees, as if to say she was ready for spring (aren’t we all, Estelle).

One of the cutest dynamics to watch when I photograph is siblings. The oldest watches me perfectly (always on cue to smile), the middle child is usually the hardest to get their attention (and easily wanders with the eyes), and the youngest is the ham (they know they are cute).
